This two company fire station was designed for the City of Charlotte in an expanding area of the city. Its design had to be sensitive to and compatible with the surrounding area, therefore the emphasis on low profile and residential character was essential. Features of the facility include watch room, administrative offices, classroom, sleeping areas, kitchen and dining room, recreation/day room, exercise room, toilets and locker rooms, apparatus room for four vehicles, hose storage, personnel equipment storage lockers, diesel/gasoline fueling facility, exterior truck wash bay, and yard maintenance equipment storage area. Construction cost, $630,000.
