Allibert, Inc., the American subsidary of Sommer-Allibert of Paris, France, selected a fifteen acre rural tract in Stanley, North Carolina for the location of its national headquarters and first manufacturing plant in the United States
The facility was designed to manufacture molded polypropolene garden and patio furniture for sales and distribution throughout the United States and Canada. It consisted of 7,000 square feet of executive and administrative offices, 35,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 78,000 square feet of finished product storage space.
