Standard Uniform Services is a subsidiary of Standard Management Corporation of Norwood, Massachusetts. They had been located in Charlotte for several years before their growing business required them to seek additional space. The new facility they decided to build incorporates approximately 10,000 square feet of office, lunchroom, new garment storage space with an additional 20,000 square feet of uniform receiving, cleaning and waiting-for-delivery garment storage space. The facility is located in the Phillips Industrial Park.

Standard Uniform leases work clothes, mops, floor mats and miscellaneous industrial items to industrial and retail clients. The low bid of $1,037,000 for the total construction cost was within 2% of the architect's estimate.
