INSP came into being with the purchase of the closing of PTL, a religious television network that suspended operation in late 1990. Although the equipment and certain contracts were purchased, the location of the network was not and a new location had to be found. Such space was found in a nearby industrial business park, approximately 20,000 square feet, to which considerable renovations had to be provided.
Ceilings had to be raised for production studios, concrete floors had to be demolished and removed under which extensive lengths of conduit and cables had to be laid, totally soundproofed partitions had to be constructed to provide the required studio environment for production of live and cable television programming. Wide spread upgrading of the originally designed speculative building had to be done to make this building satisfy the needs of this high tech broadcast production center and corporate headquarters.
The front elevation of the building was especially designed to give the facility a unique appearance in this otherwise plain faced and unadorned business park. Although by lease requirements the special exterior work and unique entry way had to be reviewed and approved by the park's leasing management, it was quickly and without challenge accepted as an asset to the park for the upgrading quality to the overall park appearance.
Total construction cost for upfitting: $750,000
